Safety
The ongoing mission of the Safety Committee is to improve the safety for our many residents, business owners, employees/workers, students, patrons and in-town and out-of-town visitors in Mount Vernon so that these folks can go about their daily lives feeling comfortable. The Safety Committee is also responsible for representing the safety concerns and interests of our residents, and to collaborate with the Police Department to monitor and ameliorate safety issues.
If you have any safety related questions, please contact the committee chair at safety@mvba.org. The Safety Committee is also responsible for organizing safety walks, providing safety tip information as well as holding informational sessions on safety for the community as well as collaborate with institutions, businesses and as mentioned above work with the Baltimore Police Department, Central District, specifically with Captain James Rhoden, Major Kevin Jones and Community Liaison Officer Lee on safety issues. Safety concerns are escalated to the appropriate individuals as needed.
